Arkham Horror (Third Edition): Dead of Night Expansion
Game Information
Kate Winthrop pulled the collar of her long coat tight against her neck to ward o the creeping chill of a damp autumn night. With a squeal of tires, a long black car raced by, pursued closely by a police wagon. Kate pressed herself up against the iron railing of the bridge over the Miskatonic to keep clear of the chaos.
She'd read in the papers about the recent upsurge in violent crime and felt the increasing tension all around the city. As the nights grew longer, she noticed a deeper darkness lurking in the shadows around Arkham, and the instruments in her research lab at the university were responding to some influence that she couldn't observe.
Something was coming.

I was somewhat surprised when the FjordLameGreek crowd didn't rush to 100% embrace this version, as they are typically enraptured with anything that FFG shats out, especially Cthulhu stuff. I've always said that CMON eventually managed to out-FFG FFG, and now FFG are left in this odd twilight world, where they are too corporate for the Kool Kidz, but too IP-focused for the casuals.Vysetron wrote: Didn't Nikki leave FFG? Curious as to what that'll do to the expansion pipeline for this one.
Followup, who here has played Arkham 3rd?
Re: Nikki
She didn't just leave, she was "proud to announce" she was leaving FFG. I remember an interview from last year where she indicated the only FFG game she ever played before joining FFG was Arkham Horror, and she didn't even like the game.
Didn't know that about Valens. Guess it was only going to last so long if she openly didn't like one of their best (in terms of critical and financial success) games.
The never played their games and didn't like the original reminds me of Verhoeven's comments around making Starship Troopers.
