Playing with more than 3 is not advised if there's an AP player at the table. First expansion really makes it shine!
Really loved the tension and player interaction here! Great suspicion and teamwork combined with the theme. I have never seen any BSG episodes, but I feel like I got a pretty good feel of what the characters go through.
I did feel like it was a bit more rules heavy than I was expecting - Especially dealing with Cylon attacks and being a cylon player. I think this has more to do with my expectations after reading reviews than the actual game itself. Regardless, I was glad that I stayed human the whole time because I dont think I could've handled the nuance that being a toaster would've required.
Definitely must play this one again - and with the right crowd!
Played it twice at EQ, once with 3, and once with 4 - both times it was the basic set up.
I really think this game has more in common with Fluxx than MTG, but definitely elements of both. That said, I really liked the games I played, and was left wanting to try out another strategy. I could see going with a bunch of two player games in a row and having a good time.
On the other hand, it's only a glob of good mechanics. Not enough "heart" to the game if you know what I mean... MTG decks, wheter competitive of themed have lots of heart, while Dominion left me a little cold in that department. Maybe more plays with differing cards might change that.
WE SHALL SEE.
And it was the find the townspeople scenario.
The gameplay was alright, and the reason I had as much fun playing as I did could definitely be attributed to the other folks around the board. Definitely better than Zombies! and I look forward to playing again.
As others have said (har har) - good, mindless fun.
it didnt seem to me to be all that tense.
For a game of cat and mouse, we were right on Drac's tail after losing him completely, and I still kinda just felt meh. It also sucked that we never actually landed a blow on big D - but maybe that's just shows our Drac player rocked and all the hunters blew. I'd play it again and hope for a different outcome, but not counting on it.
Great feel of the PC game and tons of tense fun. Great production value and once you make it though the sometimes confusing order placement, you can really rock and roll!
Woah! Nice little game here indeed! I was introduced to this one by chance at WBC and was instantly addicted - this despite the fact that I was taught by some sort of guru who trounced me EVERY game. So many options with each character's unique ability, card play, differing paths to choose to make it to your goal. Wow. Great game that's easily played in a short amount of time but still leaves you feeling satisfied.
I thought it looked kinda neat when the game started, and it's definitely SUPER attractive, but I just felt like there needed to be something more involved here. Different unit types or something. Just kind of boring decisions to be made. By the end I just wanted it to be over and ended up suiciding myself out of a safe defensive position just to stop the boring humdrum.
Introduced to me by none other than THE Ubarose. The one game I've played was amazing. Such a fun game. Sure people are impressed with it even moreso because it's a licensed, mass market game and it DOESNT suck, but by regular board game criteria, this one's a winner. Great special specific powers and card play with scenarios (4 I think?). I loved this one and I've never really seen more than an episode. I'll need to play it again to put it up higher, but I see it as potentially a solid 5.
I'd never play with anyone prone to AP or a fun murderer. Really, there's a lot of open info and since you can twist rooms around, there can be a lot to think about. But really, in a game with wizards, trolls and such - just find an opponent who wants to have a good time. I play with an approximate idea that what I'm doing is the "best move," but I like playing that way in general.
Great game for two!
