Taiwan board game invites players to imagine Chinese invasion

Taiwanese board game company Mizo Games crowdfunded a controversial board game that is set for distribution in January.

"The new game, titled "2045", tasks gamers with navigating the troubles of war by using colourful action cards, and role-playing characters involved in operations 10 days before a fictional Chinese invasion of Taiwan."

Judging by the description and the photo in the linked article, it is unclear if 2045 is more of a wargame or a eurogame, or perhaps a hybrid of both with a bit of a role-playing aspect.

It's a Kickstarter, so vaporware.

Looks like a Twilight Struggle genre title.

There are literally 500 games kickstarted each year. And that's just on the Kickstarter platform.

Also, it should be closer to "2029" not "2045"...
