ISO branding for a new Convention

I don't have a stromg preference for any one particular name, but I would avoid names that could pigeon hole the con into being perceived as being targeted at a subset of gamers. For instance Meeples to me connotate Euros only, Fantasy may come across as just RPGs, Warhawks may scare away Euro gamers, etc.

That's pretty good. Our region LOVES their acronyms.
NOTE: I'm compiling everyone's suggestions and offering them to the President's Council. They'll most likely push back to me for a director's decision, and that's fine, but I'd like them to have a sense of agency.
I'll lean in on Hawkland Game Fest, Hawkland Analog Expo. I suppose partnering with the boys from Birds of Prey isn't out of the question.
And... My family still lives North of Pittsburgh. I should start Yinz Fest just on principle!

Still like Merlin Con though. If it were hosted where I grew up in southern PA, I would absolutely call it Yinz Fest.

I was already thinking Hawk Con before I read your list. Reminds me of OwlCon here in Houston (for the Rice Owls).
Titles with "Fest" or "Expo" make me think of an event that's more like a carnival (like Ren Fest), where I associate gaming with Conventions. Yes, definitionally they have overlap, but that's just how it sits in my brain.

I always think of <something>Con as a comic book/media convention. Gencon of course being an exception.
