Backyard Coconuts ???

I want to play Coconuts on the picnic table in my backyard this summer. I doubt they need it, but I'll probably laminate the boards to water/beer-proof them and I'll sleeve the cards. The problem is losing the coconuts when they fall onto the ground. I have a bunch extra from the kickstarter and I bought some so its not a huge deal if I lose a few, but I'd rather try to prevent it. Currently I'm thinking either making them glow-in-the-dark somehow so they can be found at night or use some kind of reflective paint so they can be found with a flashlight. Any other ideas or suggestions? Any recommends on paint?

Just make it a rule that if somebody shoots one off the table they immediately lose and get punched in the jaw.

We played outside last summer. If you shot it off the table you had to find it. We did have about a five minute break once because of that rule.

Buy a bag of unshelled hazelnuts at the grocery store; they look like miniature coconuts. When they hit the ground, then don't pick them up--squirrels need to eat.

RFID tags are only twice the size of a grain of rice. You could attach a RFID tag to each coconut piece. Maybe there is a cheap phone app that will let your phone function as a scanner to locate dropped pieces.

I tested this and it seems to work. They even bounce similar.

You can't replicate the coolness of the monkeys throwing coconuts as with the commercial game, Coconuts, but, you can make this whole dexterity style game with a few plastic cups, popsicle sticks, rubber bands, and some plastic spoons. When I was a cub scout leader, we'd show the scouts how to make these catapults and play a similar style game. You can make the whole game with parts from the Dollar Store. I'd get the boys to pickup acorns for the missiles or we'd use hazelnuts.
