Maybe I'll buy Dungeon World or Dungeon Crawl Classics this year. Last year it was a copy of the old west end games Star Wars.

Hey Gary, the play-by-forum game of Dungeon World I'm running right now is one example of how you can play an RPG without being face to face. It's not the same, obviously, but it's been fun so far. The next one I run will probably be my Dungeon World Funnel game, so if you want to give that a whirl It would give you the Dungeon World experience with a touch of DCC RPG thrown in. Maybe I'll make it a FATtie game and run it via Google docs or something.

Enjoy the PCP I sprinkled in your cornflakes, jock.

PS They look like shit in Google docs, you need to download them and open them with Word

As someone who has never played any RPG ever... this is something I would definitely be interested in.

I would as well. Do I need to buy a rulebook?

I'd be up for this as well, but feels like player count is getting out of hand. That, and I've never done anything with Google+.

Yeah, sounds like numbers are big so bail me out if it would make the thing work.

No rulebook necessary. You don't even have to know how the game works, it's easy to explain along the way.

A Funnel Run is an adventure in which 12-16 "zero-level" villagers are subjected to the brutal horrors of a life of "adventure." Surivival rate is low -- I have run a couple in which everyone died. Because if the number of characters involved, though, it wouldn't be that hard to accommodate up to 8 players, as long as everyone is cool with the fact that if your characters are killed, you're out of the game. Part of the fun of a Funnel is the desperate struggle to survive against all odds, but you have to be cool with losing your dudes.

It sounds like there's more than enough interest, so I will cap the player limit at 8, which by my count would allow for one more interested player to join. Each of you will roll up 2 villagers, and I will take you through the steps of doing that.

Any opinions on running the game via F:AT vs. Google docs, or some other platform? The nice thing about F:AT is that we all are already in the habit of checking the board.

Run it on F:AT then everyone can watch with envy, wishing they put their name down instead of that drunk from the Middle East.

Please. I probably won't join in but I'd love to read the transcripts or whatever you can generate out of it.

My vote is for F:AT but doesn't matter either way.

The high death rates are fantastic. It will suck for the person that dies early, but that will make everything more memorable and meaningful.

Looking forward to it.
