I don't own it but think it's a great game.

Tile placement that exists solely to trap your opponents and cause their people to suffer hot molten death? How can that be bad?

It's cool because it has the sensibilities of the Golden Age of German games and while there is a great deal of strategy it doesn't make my head hurt like say Tigris and Euphrates does.

I love it. Still play it when I can. My copy is gone but a friend has it so we’re always down to play.

Melting meeples is always fun.

Great game, and when combined with Survive!, makes for a great natural disaster themed game night.

The only reason I no longer own it, is because I traded it to somebody for an in shrink copy of Star Wars Epic Duels back when it was still in print by Amigo in the long box.

But considering I no longer own epic duels either, I'd rather have Pompeii back.

I still play it on occasion whenever someone brings it. Put that electronic tea light in the volcano, and kill some Pompeiians.

I've actually never played it and barely remembered that it existed, which will probably make me an extreme minority around here.

I enjoy it a bunch, but I got rid of my copy a few years ago and haven't played it in ages.

Borrowed it a long time ago and had a great time with it. Kids LOVED it. I'm a sucker for things Roman, so much as I love Survive! I think I probably prefer this, but maybe it's just because we don't own it. I don't play games online normally but it is on Yucata. I want to talk to people, which doesn't happen with randoms, and this game loses the fun of grabbing the people and making sizzling noises when you drop them into the volcano. But I'm thinking I might set up a game for my kids so I can still do that.

It’s a fun game but it feels just a little clunky for some reason...I’ve always felt like maybe it was a touch over-designed. But definitely a good one.

It's those stages, I think. Stage one, place your people, stage 1a, now you can place them with slightly different rules, and also if you draw this card you can get rid of someone else, okay stage 2 now we all place lava but can't move, stage 2a now we can do that and move.
It works though.

I occasionally play this with my son. One of the few board games I can get him to play. He enjoys making a screaming noise when tossing my people into the volcano.
