It Came From the Tabletop! - Firefly: The Game

The rules are a mess, for sure. I've found the gameplay to be excellent though and had a great deal of enjoyment from a couple of solo campaigns.

I'd love to play this with you guys sometime. Every time I got it to the table it was a clunker, even with Firefly fans, so I ended up trading it away (though not without some reservations, I really WANTED to love it). That said, I feel like playing it with folks who actually do love it might make the good stuff in the game shine through.
