Masters of the Universe: Fields of Eternia Board Game Announced
There Will Be Games

Archon Studio and Mattel are proud to announce Masters of the Universe is coming to your table-top in an exiting new action-adventure board game. Including art work from renowned artist Dave Wilkins.

Bask in the fabulous glory of 80s nostalgia as you journey through the mystical land of Eternia and take command of iconic Heroes and Villains. Play as your favourite characters: He-Man, Skeletor, She-Ra, Evil-Lyn, Man-At-Arms, Beast Man, Teela and many more. All crafted in stunning 32mm detail. Each miniature comes with an immersive scenic base and a striking power pose. Using our state-of-the-art plastic injection process the models will be fully plastic, no PVC! You can also Level-up your gaming experience with custom dice and the all-powerful Castle Grayskull Dice Tower!

Choose from a variety of factions, each with their own unique abilities and aspirations. Will you help to fight back the forces of Evil, or will you seek to take control of Castle Grayskull and claim the power of the universe?

Players will have to traverse the many mountains, forests and swamp lands, as they undertake quests to power up their chosen characters, encountering familiar foes and monsters along the way. Tame wild beasts in order to ride them across the plains and into battle. Complete missions to take control of key locations throughout the land to increase your power.

Masters of The Universe: Fields of Eternia The Board Game will be released exclusively in Europe and will be coming to Kickstarter towards the end of 2020 (group/retail pledges will be available).

You can pre-order your exclusive, limited edition “He-Man On Battle Cat” miniature now! This mini will be playable and will provide an in-game bonus.  Future releases to come, such as Skeletor on Panthor and more.

Not interested in the game but a Castle Grayskull Dice Tower does sound really cool.

Bummer about the European exclusiveness. My son would be all about this

Keep in mind that Archon is Prodos Games, so your pledge might get fulfilled, eventually...

Yeah. That's a bummer. However, I was instantly put off by the "pre-order, limited edition mini that will still affect the game" approach, too. Sounds cool, but no, thanks.

CMON is doing a Masters of the Universe game as well. I assume they are not the same game.

I'd be lying if I said I wouldn't play the crap out of a game like this using a giant sized board and actual 80's era MOTU toys as characters at some con!

I really really really hope Kevin Smith can hit a home run with his MOTU netflix series. Based on his track record compared to his gushing self-promotion (and the obvious lack of any guiding oversight by Netflix on many of their projects) I'm not optimistic but one can always hope. I'm not sure modern snark and the desire to constantly pull down convention will lend itself to the type of self-parody MOTU had back in the day.

I want to like these MOTU games that are coming out, I'm just sure they are going to be way more expensive than they are worth.

A handful of pop culture 'things' I obsesss over:
Dracula
Bigfoot
Star Wars (OG)
and
MASTERS OF THE UNIVERSE

I would be all over this, except... The publisher made 'Chronicle X.' I backed it on Kickstarter, and I've learned my lesson.

Never again. These clowns couldn't keep a calendar if they had an animated paper clip Sage assisting them. Truly, it was a wildly incompetent campaign that delivered years late. The game wasn't close to finish prior to their KS launch, but a bunch of digital files were ready for mini obsessed XCOM fanboys. I was one of them. Countless excuses and game (re)development updates later - the game arrives in the most piss poor packing I've ever seen. And? The game isn't even that great. Crowdsourcing regret.

I don't have high hopes for Kevin Smith and CMON's treatment either, but a boy (at heart) can remain hopeful.
