I like the direction of the site. Overall, I like the news -- I prefer just to get all of my information from this site; I don't want to have to visit multiple sites to get information about board games.
I also like Flashback Fridays and the article content.
As far as contributing, I have a few articles that I have on the verge of submitting -- all on older games. I got caught up in work this summer and haven't been able to finish them yet.
I agree that 5-second reviews and Flashback Friday mostly serve as easy discussion starters.
If anyone has games that they would like to see as a FBF, they should PM them to me. Also rate some games in our directory. That helps inform me as to what to choose.
I will work on getting more articles about the hobby and community. I think we may have one in the pipeline for later this week or early next week.
