Yeah, just a little aggro is crucial.

Yea the ashes pulling aggro from you is really really helpful. I've got some archers now that also apply frost which is nice, plus they're really long range so they tend to stay alive more than the melee ones.

Also man From really fucking love their googly eyes basilisks  I just made it through an area that had packs of like 6 at a time hiding in the underbrush.

A big Runebear in a cave took me several tries even with the wolves, but I think my main objective now is to progress the Roderika questline to get ashes upgrades.

I pumped the Godrick knights up to +5. I call them my boys, and me and my boys enter most big boss fights together. Very funny because it's just three big knight dudes with swords, the most generic possible fantasy vibes.

Man some weird shit happens in this game. I got to the end of the deathbed companions quest and uh... Some stuff happened. Also unrelatedly I think I'm married to a witch now (?)

I was lower than that but I had a similar experience after exhausting Morne *before* Godrick.

Is this the person in roundtable hold? I avoided interacting with her because

Warning: Spoiler!

Yea her. If she hugs you you get a consumable item, and also a 5% max health debuff. The debuff goes away when you use the item. Her quest line ends with some wild shit, you should hug her. It's great and heartwarming and nothing bad happens to anyone.

I've talked to her, and used the item, talked again, etc. How do you actually get her questline to progress?

The sidequests in this game are a little on the obscure side

Just a yes or no, is there a map for the SW corner of Liurnia with the village, etc?

I went and actually looked at the place you were asking about Gary, and while there is a map of that place it's actually of the plateau above it, so... I guess the actual answer is kind of?

I became a knight of blood or something and got warped to a deeply unpleasant bloodloss themed area, so everything is going great on my end.

Also I tried invading some people and my pve build is certainly not doing it for pvp

Edit: also you get upgrade mats in a weird order. I've got stuff to max two "unique" summons but my regular ones are stuck at like +6. Same for weapons, I've got somber stones for days but not regular.

The mimic tear maxed out is pretty bonkers. I'm curious how good it was pre nerf because like it's still wildly good.

I have never even tried to use the mimic tear. One thing I hate about the inventory system is that it will tell you in the most high level abstract way what something "does", but never why I would actually want to use it. I have been carrying around shit I picked up at the beginning, and literally have no idea why.

This game is why strategy guides used to be hot sellers.
