I finally got Xia and it absolutely met expectations.

It's a good one...just DO NOT play with more than 3. It really slows down. I hope the expansion adds a little more dimension to the upgrades, but it is a fun family game...not really a hardcore space thing at all, it's lighter than Merchant of Venus.

I just got Conflict of Heroes 2nd edition with the solo expansion for Forbidden Stars...sort of a lopsided trade on my end, but it's what the dude wanted. COH is going for over $100 for some reason.

I view it as Merchants and Marauders Lite - in space. I can see it being an epic space opera with 5, but you really need the right group that doesn't mind chilling and BSing for 15 minutes between turns.

Never played second but first edition COH is very good. Love the activation system and the scenarios. Just the right amount of detail for a streamlined sim. It's definitely more towards the simulation side of things as opposed to HON, but they're trying to sort of meet in the middle I think.

That solo expansion is pretty expensive and much hyped. Have you taken it out for a spin yet?
